چکیده

Background: Secretory immunoglobulin A, human ß-defensin2 and calprotectin play an essential role in digestive system defense. This study aims to assess fecal SIgA, hBD-2, preterm neonates (as inflammation marker) with different feeding patterns.
Method: was cohort designed included 39 neonates, which were categorized into breast milk only, formula combination. Fecal measured by ELISA.
Results: SIga the only group significantly higher (p<0.005). HBD-2 highest but not (p=0.463) combination group.
Conclusion: SIgA levels that consumed higher. from group.

Leptin levels in preterm human breast milk and infant formula.

OBJECTIVE Leptin, a hormone present in breast milk, is involved in energy regulation and metabolism. The purpose of this investigation was to determine whether leptin is present in either preterm breast milk (PBM) or preterm formula (PF). The effects of delivery methods and pasteurization on leptin levels also were evaluated. METHODS PBM samples were obtained from 29 mothers who delivered inf...

Human Breast Milk Provides Better Antioxidant Capacity than Infant Formula

Human milk contains all of the constituents that are required for the optimal growth and development of a neonate. It supports the development of brain, immune, and physiological systems. This study aimed to consider the significance of breast milk in preventing oxidative stress by comparing total antioxidant capacity (TAC) in breast and formula milk for premature infants, demonstrating the rel...

Analgesic effect of expressed breast milk in neonates during venipuncture in comparison with formula and 50% dextrose

Background: Newborn infants routinely may undergo invasive procedures, even after uncomplicated birth. Evidence shows that neonates do feel pain and may even have increased sensitivity to pain and to its long term effects compared with older infants . Non pharmacologic interventions are valuable for pain relief during minor procedures in neonates. The aim of this study was to asses the effecti...

Metabolomic Approaches to Explore Chemical Diversity of Human Breast-Milk, Formula Milk and Bovine Milk

Although many studies have been conducted on the components present in human breast milk (HM), research on the differences of chemical metabolites between HM, bovine milk (BM) and formula milk (FM) is limited. This study was to explore the chemical diversity of HM, BM and FM by metabolomic approaches. GC-TOFMS and UPLC-QTOFMS were applied to investigate the metabolic compositions in 30 HM sampl...
